Inflation History Lesson

 

               “Once inflation goes above 5%, it has never come back down without the Fed Funds rate exceeding the CPI” ~ Stan Druckenmiller

 

               The CPI was 6.5% in December 2022 — while the Fed Funds rate is currently 4.33%

 

                                               Coming in January 2023

               

               To help lower CPI readings, the Bureau of Labor Services is changing the calculations they use for determining the CPI.

 

               “Every single adjustment to CPI calculation has ended up with a lower CPI.  No one has ever adjusted it and come up with a higher number.  So, we, we know what the adjustments are there for.” ~ Grant Williams
